To My Old Friends

So, I couldn’t sleep because my wife woke me and freaked me out, but that’s a story for another time.

So, I’m sitting here and I’m thinking about different random stuff, and just pondering some of deepest things of the universe. Then I find myself thinking of the past, and remembering the people who had entered my life but is no longer there.

There were friends back in high school where we did everything together. So many memories of fun times we had together, but since high school we all went went into different directions.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if we meet up again just like we use to do. Would it be something we would cherish and enjoy? Would the connection we had back then still be there? I have changed so much and I’m sure everyone else has to.

Sometimes I think about everyone and wonder how you are doing. I may be friends with you on Facebook or some other social media and so I can see what is going on with you in your life. I wonder if you are happy and living the life you always wanted.

It just amazes me how time changes things. Sometimes something comes to an end and you don’t even know it until later down the road. You could be hanging out with a friend and not even realize that you just spent the last time hanging out with that person. Thinking about that is kind of a sad thought, but it also makes me want to cherish the relationships I have now even more.

Things change as time passes, and we must enjoy the moments that are happening right now in the present, and remember those in your past that have touched your life in some way because they have helped you to get to where you are now.
